Butterflies

There are about 120 butterfly species in Extremadura and one can see butterflies throughout the year. The highest diversity occurs in the mountains of the Gredos and Villuercas. The best time to see as many species as possible will be in late spring (May and June). In the garden of Casa Rural El Recuerdo we have recorded over 30 species. Here is a selection of butterflies that one can find in Extremadura.
